ATOM, a.k.a. Matt Inconiglios, has been experimenting with sound since he re-wired his AM radio to play through an old guitar amplifier as a child. Excited by the possibilities of sound manipulation through electronics, ATOM now mixes music, sounds, dialogue, and whatever else he can find to create a surreal sonic painting.
Inspired by the works of The Orb, Akufen, Meat Beat Manifesto, and Josh
Wink, ATOM creates mixes and original tracks using elements of the
entire sound spectrum, ranging from classical music, to electronic
beats, to found sounds of everyday life.
Currently ATOM operates his own record label, Cotopaxi Music, in addition to performing at various events, both live and dj. His signature minimal yet funky house sound is inspired by many influences - the micro-tech scene in Montreal & Germany, the current 'mash-up' craze, afro-soul funk, radio from the 70's, etc.
