One thing I found frustrating when tooling around with skins recently is that you can't change the color of the rectangle that appears around the clip grid when you've got a Launchpad or APC device connected. By default, it shows up red:
While changing skins doesn't change the color of the rectangle, there are a few color choices - six to be exact. Six because Live can support up to six control surfaces simultaneously. Depending on the control surface slot that the Launchpad or APC is set up in, a different color is assigned to it's rectangle.
For the Hobo's Ball this weekend, I assigned my Launchpad using row five in the control surface setup:
...because, to my eye, purple pops out the most and makes my life a little easier when performing:
